Pizza Express was always our go to restaurant when my sister and I were younger. There was something for everyone on the menu and we always enjoyed our food. We hadn’t been for a while though, so when my mum suggested it for dinner after our trip to Somerset House I was more than happy to go back!
The restaurant at Charing Cross is pretty big, with an upstairs and downstairs seating areas. We were sat downstairs on a slightly raised area which gave a good view over to the pizzas being made!
We decided to take advantage of the great deal they have on where you can have three courses for under £14.
For starters mum and I shared garlic bread with mozzarella and dough balls – I love the garlic butter as it is full of flavour but not too overpowering!
There were so many things on the menu for main courses that I could have chosen, but in the end I went for the Leggera Padana pizza with goats cheese and caramelised onions.
Its a lighter option as I was feeing full after all the dough balls and it comes with a salad in the centre, on a thin and crispy base. It tasted sooo good and was the perfect size!
Mum had the salad niçoise and said it tasted fresh and full of flavour!
For dessert I had the vanilla cheesecake with ice cream. It came with a berry sauce that went perfectly with it. I felt totally stuffed by the end of it!
My mum had ice cream and there was a good range of flavours to choose from, eventually deciding on salted caramel and chocolate.
I washed down my meal with a prosecco and elderflower cocktail that went perfectly with my pizza!
We were really impressed with the service as all our food arrived at our table quickly and with a smile.
I’ll definitely be going back to Pizza Express soon as I’ve got my eye on the Pollo Pesto from their Al Forno menu. It was a perfect Friday night dinner!
I haven’t been to Pizza Express in a while, always choosing local restaurant for some reason… but now, with all these fantastic pictures I’m desperate to go! And you made me crave cheesecake *texts bf to pop into M&S on the way back home* …and prosecco!
